One of the great pleasures of early mornings for me is the serenade of the birds. I hear all different species tweeting and chirping, calling out to one another in whatever language it is they speak and it brings me joy.
Closing my eyes standing still and taking in the great symphony.
The Chickidee’s and Robins taking up the woodwinds,
A Crow on the brass,
Those damned Magpies clashing in on the percussion,
House Sparrows working magic on the strings,
And a Cobra Chicken honking away as an audience would clap.
All while being directed by the slow rise of the suns early morning rays.
What a gift.
Ive heard bird talk in a few different places around the planet, the words are different but the beauty is the same. Maybe it’s called song because I can’t understand what they are saying, like listening to people speaking Spanish passionately. No clue what you’re saying but damn does it sound nice.
Maybe it’s called song because words are clumsy and imprecise falling short of defining just how awe-some it is to be here, alive.
I heard once that birds talk to each other in the morning to let each other know that they made it through the night, maybe.
I like to think birds talk excitedly in the morning, i’m sure they check in - “everybody good?” but from what it sounds like I imagine “Hell ya! OH MY GOSH, i’m so excited for today, its gonna be a friggin great day folks, we gonna fly, we gonna eat and we gonna LIVE” tweet tweet… Whatever it is they are saying ill never understand and so I call it a song, one I only really hear when I stop and listen.
Anyway if you are blessed enough to be in the position perhaps try this - Stand still outside for 30 seconds (Surely you can do 30 seconds) and focus every fibre of yourself on the sounds that greet your ears. Enjoy.
