You know those events ya go to that are just a good wholesome time? The huge festival or the local art market, the get together to eat or do a fun activity with friends? The plain ol’ hell ya house party?
Those all came from the planner people and hats off to those folks!
I really have no clue how planner people go about it, choosing the date, the activity, the decor, the music, the vibe, inviting everyone, ensuring it works for all those attending, making sure its safe-ish and stressing about wether it will be a good time or not my goodness what a huge undertaking.
I know for certain though it starts as a thought and next thing ya know there’s a bunch of humans gathered, creating memories and life-ing together and its all thanks to planner people, putting in the hours and the work. Thank you.
Personally im not a planner person. For get togethers giant or petite, the amount of backend work is just to much for the level of meaning I get from it and that’s just the way I am built but you planner people? You deserve a heart felt thanks and for goodness sakes the giving to you of something useful wether it be material or labour. Every gathering or event I go to I am blown away by the level of effort put in, even if the thing isn’t to my specific liking. I respect deeply the level of effort necessary to take it from idea to reality.
Next time you are at a function or a friend gathering or group of humans organized by somebody pause. Take a moment to release the neurotic self conscious worrying (your hands are fine in your pockets its okay)and consider - How much effort and time did it take for the person or people who organized this, from conception to me being here? How fucking stressful all that must be!
How cool is it that there’s people who get off on making these things happen so I can come and enjoy?
That should inspire some gratitude.
Go find the planner people and shake their hand, Well done.
If you are a planner person, we thank you. Humanity is far better for having people like you on this earth, keep going you make a huge difference.
